The success of these Amazon tradpub (traditional publishing) imprints will depend to a large degree on content, of course. While Amazon’s promotional push will make a difference, they need to get interesting authors and interesting stories. I think that may be a particular challenge in this area. They are Hugo and Nebula winners, and bring very solid geek cred to the imprint. Notice, though, that there are as many authors listed here as there were people stranded on Gilligan’s Island. Into the Black: Odyssey Oneby Evan Currie. This is a reissue of the book formerly known just as Odyssey One (it’s the first in a series). It’s described as a military science fiction epic. Pre- order for March 2. Nightfall (Nightingale: Book One)by Stephen Leather. This is a discovered destiny novel from the British thriller author? Lee Goldberg was one of the screenwriters on that show, and one of the leading tie- in novelists. Lee has a lot of fans as a writer? Horror, involving body modification. Pre- order for February 2. Well, they’ve sort of scattered them over the course of eight months or so.
